Music fosters
creative and expressive communication. In addition to enhancing enjoyment of
The Arts, studying Music allows students to develop musicianship through
making and responding. Through
composition, performance and musicology, students use and apply music elements
and concepts to convey meaning and emotion to an audience. Students demonstrate practical music skills, and analyse and evaluate
music in a variety of contexts, styles and genres. These skills together with
essential literacy skills allow students to engage in a multimodal world. Studying Music can
establish a basis for further education and employment in the fields of
creative industries, arts administration, communication, education, public
relations and technology.
